This book includes the work of Zbigniew Leszczyc "Herby Szlachty Polskiej" with an added index and a specially complied "List of family names". It is an attempt to give the reader on the one hand a concise one volume armorial and on the other the most comprehensive list of surnames entitled to coats of arms. In this way the reader, once has has found the desired name, is able to check what coat of arms it is entitled to an furthermore he can find out more about the coat of arms itself.
The list of nearly 20,000 Polish surnames is the largest over published. A specially prepared index has been added in order to help in the searching of entries. It was not present in the original.
